The function of art is to do more than tell it like it is-it’s to imagine what is possible. The Architects of Inspiration is a collection of "risk inspired art and photography”, letting people see first hand just what happens if you put it all on the line and how visually poetic the outcome can be. Powered by Indian Motorcycle and brought to you by Hasselblad cameras, this debut art exhibit is the brainchild of Roland Sands and was showcased at the first annual Outlier’s Guild Custom Motorcycle Show.
Held at the Container Yard in downtown LA, the venue alone draws enough attention with it’s graffiti’d walls and maze of a floor plan but what was contained inside was more than just your run of the mill motorcycle show. A cross between MOMA, TORCH Gallery, the carnival and your best friends back yard, this show brought a little bit of something to everyone without the pretentious undertones that a museum would have. Most of the attendees already believe that motorcycles are functional art and until this show that’s how motorcycles were displayed, as the intricate pieces of well crafted, calculated and curated metal that they are. However this show wanted you to see what they were also capable of.
If the painter constructs then the photographer discloses. Often times we think about the motorcycles as the risk but we never really think about the risk taken to capture such moments. The show featured a number of eclectic photographers skilled in the art of time travel and making decisions one eighth of a second, oftentimes putting themselves in the action. This was some of the industries best and leading the photography show, CR Stecyk, The Godfather of California culture, showcased creation through the lens, and iconic LA based photographer Estevan Oriol joined a cast of massively talented shooters in this collaboration with the OG Moto Show and Meta Magazine, including: Preston Burroughs, Matthew Jones, Dylan Gordon, Dimitri Coste, Todd Blubaugh, Sebastien Zanella and Matt Wignall, all displayed images that seemed more real than reality. Their limited edition photography prints were for sale to support, Waves for Water, a charity organization that helps bring clean water to communities in need around the world.

The OG Moto Show may have been visually overstimulating at times but was the perfect combination of sophistication and chill. A place for those that live this life to see it in a different way and for the outsiders to maybe understand why we do the things we do because art isn’t suppose to be nice, it’s suppose to make you feel something.

Roland Sands Design presents the Architects of Inspiration, a collection of "risk inspired art and photography" powered by Indian Motorcycle and brought to you by Hasselblad cameras. The AOI is making a return to the two-wheeled scene with the inaugural Outlier's Guild Custom Motorcycle Show, also known as the OG Moto Show, on May 6, 2017 at the Container Yard in Downtown Los Angeles. This event will showcase select Café Racer, Bobber, Classic, Tracker, Scrambler, Modern Classic, Brat style motorcycles along with full customs. The show will gather dozens of custom builders and hundreds of motorcycle enthusiasts together in a unique setting with a gallery of motorcycles on display and vendors offering merchandise for sale.
The original Architects of Inspiration (AOI) idea was launched with Upper Playground and Toyota at the IMS show in 2008 and featured custom bikes paired with painted walls and photography. The exhibit traveled across the United States to 10 major cities.
Enter 2017, nearly 10 years later the Architects of Inspiration are at it again, with a new cast of creators. This year's show is focused around risk inspired art and features a number of photographers and painters paired with motorcycles.

Skateboard legend and artist Steve Caballero will showcase his Indian bike in a unique installation, while Monster Energy bar will be providing beverages to keep you alert and music to keep you entertained while you soak in the best of moto photography with a running slide show.
The Architects of Inspiration and inaugural OG Moto Show is free and open to the public. The event will be held from 12 to 9PM on May 6, 2017 at The Container Yard located at 800 E. 4th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013.
About the Outlier’s Guild Custom Motorcycle Show
The Outlier’s Guild Custom Motorcycle Show is a motorcycle event that celebrates vintage, modern classic, and full custom motorcycles. Founded by Jay LaRossa of Lossa Engineering, Stan Chen, John Pangilinan, and Ralph Holguin of RMD Garage to produce a unique motorcycle experience for enthusiasts.
