Del Mar - A Day at the Races

We had another great couple days of short track racing at DelMar with IV League this past weekend. RSD brought out 3 Indian Hooligan racers winning the first race of the year Saturday with Kayl Kolkman number 98 behind the bars.

Aaron Colton posted up a third place finish on an Indian Scout. Sunday we had a full roster of riders with Aaron Colton, local legend Alex Wood and our own Roland Sands on the Indians. Alex’s first time on the track on a Hooligan bike was the heat race and both he and Colton qualified for the main event. Sands had a mishap passing for the lead in his heat race and tucked the front after hitting Sean Guardado of Suicide Machine Co. JD Mosley on the Ducati put a fork leg through the gas tank of the downed Scout then hit the ground and was mounted by Aaron Guardado on his Sportster. Both Guardado and Mosley made the restart while Sands had to sit out with a leaky fuel tank missing a spot in the Hooligan A Main. Photos by Preston Burroughs

The Hooligan Final was taken by The Rusty Butcher with Colton on the Scout third followed closely by Alex Wood in his first Hooligan Main after a total of 8 total laps in the heat race prior. “That was a lot of fun” was Alex’s response after he finished a clean race. Sands went on to win the B main after a group effort to repair the Scout’s gas tank with a tube of quick dry jb weld.
