We’ve bead blasted our Vintage Kit and given it a clear powder coat that allows the raw metal to shine through as if it’s metallic. We hammered out a couple of aluminum gas tank side panels and welded some threaded bungs into the tank so we could bolt them on.
Del Mar Softail
The Del Mar Softail is an homage to the original Go Left Fast Track in Southern California, the Del Mar Mile. Its racing stance is inspired by bobbed big twin racers of the past, but with a modern twist. When in doubt, GO LEFT!!
We’ve also used our newest Del Mar wheels which is ultra-light, and inspired by the original billet flat track wheel designed by Roland nearly 13 years ago. The 19” Machine Ops finish front & rear wheels with Dunlop flat track race tires fit into our new narrow 150mm fender well, with use of ride-height-adjustable Progressive Suspension 422 series RAP shocks.
Believe it or not, this bike actually started life as a Softail Heritage. We strip the light bars and tin off the front end and replaced them with our new Nostalgia headlight and some really cool billet upper fork covers from Rough Crafts. Our fork brace was made to clear the large front tire by using a fender-to-fork adapter from Drag Specialties (usually used to raise a stock front fender to clear a 21” front wheel/tire combo on FLST models).
