Bobby Fong wins Mission Foods King of the Baggers Race 2 at Road America on the SDI Racing, Roland Sands Design, Sacramento Mile Indian Challenger. Fong led by 5.8 seconds at the finish line from Pole Position, with the fastest lap of the weekend, leading every lap and taking a commanding victory over James Rispolli and Kyle Wyman on the factory Harley's at Harley Davidsons' home track. Bobby clicked off the fastest lap of the weekend breaking the track record with a 2:19.859 on lap 3, over a second faster than his qualifying time. Bobby’s pole position, flag to flag victory, fastest lap of the weekend, track record and race win completed a hat trick for the team on Sunday and secured the SDI racing, Roland Sands Indian Challenger as the bike to beat heading into Laguna Seca.

The team’s weekend would prove to be a roller coaster with Fong taking an early pole position in Friday’s Q1 session. The bike would then develop unseen issues which complicated the Q2 session on Saturday as well as Race 1. With only two minutes left in Q2 Fong lost the front going into turn 2 ending the session early which kept the SDI, Racing Roland Sands Challenger on Pole position, but would leave little time to fix the damage keeping Fong out of the Mission Challenge. The 5K would go to Tyler Ohara who bested Kyel Wyman in the Challenge.

A fueling issue would ultimately plague Fong in Saturday’s race 1 and prevent any chance of a podium finish with Bobby struggling to stay on pace with leaders. The drastic change in both the feel of the bike as well as the resulting HP loss and rideability proved too much for Fong to overcome and at one point in the race he ran off the track only managing to salvage a 7^th place and besting his Roland Sands team mate Kyle Ohnsorg who finished 8^th. The race win was taken by Kyle Wyman on his factory HD after a last lap pass on Tyler Ohara who finished second.

After race 1 the SDI racing, Roland Sands team went to work further diagnosing the compounding issues related to the Q2 crash as well as unrelated issues present prior to Q2. The team stayed late into the night Saturday deep in data and utilized every source to get their Indian Challenger prepared to battle for a Race 2 victory. Come Sunday morning, the bike was ready for Fong to do work in race 2.

As luck would have it, a last-minute malfunction in Bobby’s suit had the team and Bobby panicking on the starting line as Bobby’s air bag went off on the warm up lap. With only moments to the start Bobby struggled to get the airbag to deflate on the grid while the clock ticked towards the start. With the airbag still partially inflated Bobby closed his face shield just in time to pull in the clutch and launch towards turn one from pole position at the green flag. He got a stellar start, leading into turn one and never looked back.
