RSD KH9 BUSA

It’s been a while since we’ve built a Busa but, we tried to keep this one original. We recently breathed new life into this 2005 Suzuki Hayabusa for a customer of ours. If you have an older bike and feel like you need something new, don’t hesitate to transform it into something fresh. This machine now features up-to-date good looks and a big, street-able motor. Feels good to give something a new lease on life.

The Vance & Hines Pro Stock motor has 14.8:1 compression, ported heads and hot cams but, runs on pump gas but puts out a solid 240 ponies. Sounds just as mean with a V&H Comp Series 2-into-1 stainless steel exhaust. A K&N Race Series air filter keeps the insides clean while letting in maximum air flow. The 2”-over Track Dynamics Swingarm helps keep the front end on the ground but also allows you to pull into the gas station and fill up. Ohlins forks and shock soak up the bumps and Dunlop rubber wrapped around PM Revolution race-weight wheels keep it hooked up while minimizing rotating mass. Even though we removed one front disc for looks, the PM calipers and master cylinders get the stopping job done effortlessly.

For the bodywork, Hotbodies hooked us up with a smoked Dual Radius GP windscreen and Bitchin Seat Co. made us a custom seat to match the Busa race tail. We mounted a stock MV Augusta tail light into rear end, then we let Chris Wood at Airtrix work his magic. This guy knows how to lay down fresh paint like nobody’s business. We still don’t know how he made all the horizontal lines match when all we did was ship him the bodywork!
