SUPER HOOLIGANS TURN UP THE HEAT AT MID-OHIO

Kornbau and DiBrino trade wins as the championship battle comes down to the wire.

The Mission Super Hooligan National Championship rolled into Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for the penultimate stop of the 2026 season, and with the championship on the line, the Hooligans delivered another weekend of flat-out racing.

BPR Racing Yamaha teammates Bryce Kornbau and Andy DiBrino came into Ohio locked in a tight points battle, and by the end of two races they had each added another victory to their season tally. Behind them, Gus Rodio, Corey Alexander, James Rispoli, Jake Lewis and the rest of the field fought for every position around Mid-Ohio's fast, technical 2.4-mile layout.

When the dust settled, only five points separated the top two riders in the championship — setting the stage for a winner-take-all-style showdown at Circuit of The Americas.

SATURDAY: KORNBAU SETS THE PACE

Saturday's Race 1 started with the championship contenders right where you'd expect them — at the front.

Kornbau and DiBrino locked out the first two spots on the grid for BPR Racing Yamaha, while Ducati-mounted Gus Rodio completed the front row.

From the green flag, the three immediately separated themselves from the rest of the field. Kornbau took control up front with DiBrino close behind and Rodio keeping the Yamahas within reach.

But Kornbau wasn't interested in leaving the outcome until the final corner.

By halfway, he had dropped into the 1:28s, establishing a new race lap record of 1:28.203 while slowly stretching his advantage. He led every lap and crossed the line 1.4 seconds ahead of DiBrino, with Rodio completing the podium.

The victory brought Kornbau level with DiBrino at 143 championship points apiece, with Rodio sitting just ten points behind.

SUNDAY: DIBRINO ANSWERS BACK


If Saturday belonged to Kornbau, Sunday belonged to DiBrino.

DiBrino got the jump from second on the grid and grabbed the early lead with Kornbau immediately settling in behind him. Jake Lewis ran third early for Saddlemen Race Development while Corey Alexander put the ARCH Motorcycle Racing 2s-R into fourth.

Before long, the two BPR Yamahas began breaking away.

Kornbau eventually found his way around DiBrino and into the lead, but there was no shaking his teammate. The two continued pushing the pace while Rodio worked his way into the final podium position behind them.

That set up exactly what the Mid-Ohio crowd wanted — one final lap with the championship leaders going head-to-head.

Kornbau started the last lap in front, but DiBrino had been lining up his move. Through the esses, Andy made his attack, got himself ahead and held it all the way to the checkered flag.

The margin?

Just 0.216 seconds.

DiBrino had his answer.

Kornbau may have finished second, but he wasn't exactly taking it easy. He smashed his own record from Saturday with a 1:28.072, establishing a new outright Super Hooligan track record at Mid-Ohio.Race 2 — Sunday

Behind the podium battle, Alexander brought the ARCH home in fourth, while defending champion James Rispoli made a late charge past Saddlemen teammate Jake Lewis to claim fifth.

For DiBrino, another victory continues an incredible run through the second half of the season.

Just five points separate DiBrino and Kornbau, while Rodio remains only 19 points from the championship lead.

With 50 points still available, the math has officially narrowed the championship fight to DiBrino, Kornbau and Rodio. Defending champion James Rispoli sits fourth, 53 points back, putting a repeat title out of reach.

That means everything comes down to Texas.

ONE ROUND. TWO RACES. ONE CHAMPION.

After Daytona, Barber, The Ridge, Laguna Seca and now Mid-Ohio, the 2026 Mission Super Hooligan National Championship has reached its final showdown.

DiBrino has the lead.

Kornbau is five points behind.

Rodio is still within striking distance.

And there are two races left to decide it all.

The Hooligans head to Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas, September 11–13, for the final double-header of the 2026 season.

If Mid-Ohio was any indication, nobody is giving an inch.
