Super Hooligans Bring the Heat to Barber Motorsports Park
Round two of the 2026 Mission Super Hooligan National Championship rolled into the rolling green hills of Barber Motorsports Park and delivered exactly what fans have come to expect from the fastest-growing class in American motorcycle racing: chaos, close battles, wild machinery, and elbows-out racing from start to finish.
After the high-speed madness of Daytona kicked off the season, Barber brought a completely different challenge to the grid. Tight technical sections, elevation changes, and flowing transitions rewarded riders who could keep momentum alive while wrestling big-bore twins and naked bikes through one of the most demanding circuits on the MotoAmerica calendar.
And from the opening laps, it was clear nobody came to Alabama to play it safe.
BARBER SUPERHOOLIGAN - RACE 1 HIGHLIGHTS
“When I made that first pass on him, I was like, ‘Oh my god, it almost feels disrespectful,’ you know, as a legend.”
- GUS RODIO ABOUT RACING JOSH HERRIN
The weekend belonged to rising contender Gus Rodio, who put together a near-perfect performance aboard the Ducati-powered Rodio Racing machine, sweeping both Super Hooligan races and leaving Barber with the championship points lead. Rodio’s pace through Barber’s technical infield proved nearly untouchable, especially as tire wear and changing track conditions began to affect the field late in each race.
But the real story of Barber may have been the fight happening just behind him.
The Saddlemen Race Development Harley-Davidson Pan America squad once again showed why they remain one of the toughest teams in the paddock. Defending series champion James Rispoli, Jake Lewis, and Cory West spent the weekend battling through setup changes, adapting their big V-twins to Barber’s technical layout after dominating the draft-heavy banking at Daytona.
Saturday’s race saw Cory West lead the Harley-Davidson charge with a hard-fought sixth-place finish while Rispoli and Lewis continued searching for the right setup balance on the Pan America 1250 ST machines. By Sunday, the team had found another level.
Rispoli stormed back onto the podium with a gritty third-place finish after carving past teammate Jake Lewis mid-race and chasing down the leaders aboard the Saddlemen-prepared Harley. Lewis backed him up with a strong top-five finish, while the team continued collecting valuable championship points heading into the next round.
One of the weekend’s biggest crowd favorites came from the futuristic side of the paddock as Josh Herrin piloted the OrangeCat Racing Lightfighter electric machine to multiple front-running finishes, including a second-place podium on Sunday. The electric-powered hooligan bike continued turning heads with brutal acceleration and near-silent speed, proving the class continues evolving in unexpected ways.
Elsewhere in the field, Bryce Kornbau, Robertino Pietri, Jason Waters, and Corey Alexander all mixed it up in classic Super Hooligan fashion — trading paint, swapping positions, and pushing everything to the limit through Barber’s famous corners.
What makes Super Hooligan racing special isn’t just the diversity of motorcycles on the grid — it’s the personalities, riding styles, and unpredictability every single weekend brings. Harley-Davidson Pan Americas, Ducati-powered builds, Yamaha triples, ARCH customs, and even electric race bikes all lined up together at Barber, somehow making the class feel both completely modern and gloriously old-school at the same time.
And as the championship standings tighten leaving Alabama, one thing is becoming very clear:
The 2026 Super Hooligan season is shaping up to be an absolute war.
Motul keeps the Super Hooligan paddock running at full send, delivering the high-performance oils, lubricants, and maintenance products teams rely on when race weekends get hot, fast, and unforgiving.
Big thanks to Motul for supporting the series and helping keep the bikes sharp, reliable, and ready to battle every time they hit the track.

What Makes Super Hooligan Racing Different
The Mission Super Hooligan class has quickly become one of MotoAmerica’s most exciting categories thanks to its unique mix of machinery and riding style.
- 750cc+ twin-cylinder machines
- Naked sportbikes and performance streetfighters
- Minimal bodywork and aggressive riding positions
- Big horsepower with minimal electronic intervention
- Bar-to-bar racing and constant drafting battles
The result is a class that feels raw, unpredictable, and incredibly fun to watch.
What’s Next for the Championship
After four of 10 rounds in the 2026 Mission Foods Super Hooligan Championship, Rodio leads the series with 72 points, followed by Rispoli with 65 points, Lewis with 59 points, and Saddlemen Race Development Harley-Davidson rider Cory West with 50 points.
The Mission Foods Super Hooligan Championship resumes June 26-28 at Ridge Motorsports Park in Shelton, Wash.
Bell Helmets continue to play a critical role in protecting Super Hooligan riders like #62 Andy DiBrino, where every race means high-speed battles, hard braking zones, and the constant risk that comes with pushing big bikes to the limit.
BARBER SUPERHOOLIGAN - RACE 2 HIGHLIGHTS
With Barber’s flowing elevation changes, tight braking zones, and fast direction changes, reducing rotating mass becomes a serious advantage.
The weekend delivered another strong showing for machines equipped with Dymag performance, including the Saddlemen Race Development Harley-Davidson ridden by James Rispoli, who charged to a podium finish in Race 2. From Daytona’s wide-open speed to Barber’s precision-driven layout, Dymag continues to prove why top teams trust their wheels when the racing gets real.
Big congratulations to the teams and riders continuing to put Dymag wheels to work at the front of the Super Hooligan field.
CPI Stem Cells – Healing the Riders
Super Hooligan racing is fast, aggressive, and hard on the body. Between the crashes, training, and constant travel, riders put themselves through a lot during a race season—which is why recovery matters just as much as performance.
Based just outside San Diego in Tijuana, Mexico, CPI has built a reputation as one of the leading stem cell treatment facilities in the world, helping athletes and patients recover from injuries and get back to doing what they love.
As Roland puts it:
“I want to give a shout out to one of our new sponsors, CPI Stem Cells. These guys are the number one stem cell facility really in the world… This is where the healing gets done.
All of us road racers and motorcycle riders get a little injured sometimes. When it comes down to healing, CPI really knocks it out of the park getting you back to where you need to be. I feel about ten years younger after my treatment.”
